How to Hang an Army Uniform in a Shadow Box
- 1). Measure the uniform's height and width. Measure the width of each sleeve and each pant leg, if you are framing the pants as well.
- 2). Iron the uniform with a misting of starch.
- 3). Lay the uniform front-side up on the backing board of the shadow box, centering it. Button the jacket all the way up as it would appear on a soldier.
- 4). Insert on of the T pins in the collar and pin the collar to the backing board.
- 5). Pin each shoulder from the inside of the uniform to the backing board.
- 6). Pin the bottom half of the jacket to the backing board, inserting pins in both lower corners.
- 7). Fold the sleeves however you want them to be displayed and pin them to the backing board at the end from the inside of the sleeve.
- 8). Pin the pants to the backing board just below the jacket, pinning them on either top side. Pin each pant leg at the bottom, using two pins per leg on both bottom corners of the pants.
