Allergic to a Christmas Tree?
Are you allergic to pine trees? Wondering what you can do to replace the Christmas tree? When I was growing up my family always had a beautifully light and decorated tree.
In fact, my mother always insisted on a picture perfect tree that was fight for the movies.
However, because of my brother, one year we had to stop the Christmas tree.
My 3 sibling is allergic to pine trees, my mother was loved him and so the year we found out she took the tree down and we gave it to a local family.
She cried about it for a day and then decided she would make do with an artificial tree.
Luckily today they are so good at making fake pine trees that you can get one that looks very realistic.
You can also get one that is pre-lit, which is the best part in my opinion.
My mother bought the best 8' fake tree she could find and then we spent a whole day decorating it just right.
However, there was still something missing.
We didn't know what but you could just feel it.
Something in the room was wrong.
As it turned out it was the smell.
When you have a fresh tree you can smell the pine all throughout the house and it is such a wonderful, christmasy smell.
Well, there was a simple solution to that as well.
Candles, my mother bought 3 pine candles and positioned them throughout the house just right.
She would then light them and keep them lit for 2-3 hours 2-3 times a day to keep the smell in the house.
So if you are allergic to pine trees then don't worry, you can still have the Christmas tree feel in your house.
Simply purchase a great looking artificial tree and then light some candles to mimic the smell and enjoy.
