How to Catch a Mullet on a Hook
- 1). Choose and prepare your bait. This can be as simple as bread balled up and placed on the hook, or as complicated as making dough out of chicken feed, oatmeal, and water.
- 2). Choose your equipment. For catching mullet, you need a rod that is about 6 feet long and 10 lb test line. You can use just one hook, or tie a swivel on the end of the line and attach a four foot line with hooks attached every 10 inches.
- 3). Toss a small amount of bait (five or six pieces) into the water. Once the mullets start eating the bait, throw your hook into the water near them. Wait for one of the mullets to attack your bait and then reel him in.
