Create Your Look

• 1). Apply eye concealer to your eye area, including under the eye where there might be dark circles. The concealer will even out your natural skin tone and give you a flawless base for your eyeshadow. Make sure to blend the concealer into your skin thoroughly.
  
  
• 2). Choose three eye shadows for your look. The three colors consist of a base for your lid, a darker color for contrast and a lighter color for highlighting. You should select the colors based upon your eye color. Hazel eyes will look great with a light rose tone for the lid, a deep navy or brown for contour and a gold or pale cream for highlighting. Blue eyes will look exceptional with an orange based brown on the lid, a deep blue for contour and a light peach or sky shimmering blue for highlighting. Some examples of colors for brown eyes include violet or amethyst for the lids, a deep brown or royal purple for the contour and a pale peach or ivory for highlighting. Color choices for green eyes should include a deep terracotta or amethyst for the lids, deep chestnut brown or emerald green for contour and a light green or peach for highlighting.
  
  
• 3). Sweep the selected eye shadow to your lid. You should begin from the inner corner of the eye and extend to the outer corner of the eye. Using an eye shadow brush will help ensure that you blend the color into the eyelid.
  
  
• 4). Using your eyeshadow brush take the darker or contrast eyeshadow and sweep this color in the crease of the eye. It is very important to blend this color so that it does not look as if you have painted or brushed a stripe over your eyelids. Use the brush and without adding any additional color, blend the contour shadow until it looks like a natural progression from the color on the lid.
  
  
• 5). Apply the lightest color to the top area or the brow bone. The highlight area will be determined by the way that you have shaped your eyebrows. It is important to make sure that the highlight is very light and just a shimmer. It should not be an obvious color.
