Hot Comb Problems
- A hot comb is heated by sitting it on a hot stove burner for about 30 seconds on each side. If the comb is too hot, it can burn your hair or your scalp.
- Hot combs aren't healthy for your hair because they can dry your hair out. You hair needs to be washed and conditioned (preferably with a deep conditioner) before straightening it.
- The styling tool can ignite flammable materials that you use on your hair, such as hair spray. Your hair needs to be clean of such products before using the comb.
- You can only work on one small section of hair at a time with the comb, so straightening hair is typically a time-consuming process when using a hot comb.
