How to Save Money and Time Recycling Aluminum Foil On Common Household Projects

    • 1). Crumple up a piece of aluminum foil and use it to scrub stuck on food off your pots and pans. This is a great use for foil that has been heavily soiled.

    • 2). Polish your silverware the easy way. Line a cake pan with aluminum foil. Fill with ice water and sprinkle a ¼ cup of table salt in. Leave your silver in for fifteen minutes. Just rinse and rub dry with a clean towel. Trust me, it works. Enjoy the shine.

    • 3). If you are cooking a messy pie or casserole save the bottom of your oven and slip a piece of aluminum foil under your pan on the rack. Do not put foil on the bottom of your oven. It could cause a fire next to the coils.

    • 4). Fold up your leftover aluminum foil and use it sharpen your dull scissors. Just cut into it a dozen or so times and those scissors should be as good as new.

    • 5). Place large pieces of aluminum foil shiny side up in between the plants in your garden. It will help reflect more lights onto your plant, help keep the weeds down, and the extra light will discourage bugs from hiding on the underside of the leaves.

    • 6). If you are a non-smoker and one of your quests needs an ashtray don't use one of your dishes. Just fold up several layers of foil into a square, turn the sides up and you are all set.
