Perhaps You Might Want to Shovel This Mr President

8
Remember that huge stimulus package that the Obama Administration put forth and the huge promise that it would upgrade our infrastructure and indeed, also provide millions of jobs? Later, we learned that project after project was delayed tied up in regulation, approvals, EIRs, and the like, and the jobs that were created, on some of the smaller projects were temporary, and often costing more than 5-10 million dollars each? Well, now President Obama agrees they were not all that shovel-ready after all, and indeed, I agree and will concede that point to him, and then remind everyone of my readers "I told you so!" Okay, now then, regarding his heated topic; there was an interesting article recently in the USA Today in the Oval Office Tracking Section titled "Obama Jokes About 'Shovel-Ready' Projects" on June 13 by David Jackson, which quotes President Obama stating; "Shovel-ready was not as shovel-ready as we expected," And then the article added; "In both the jobs council meeting and in his speech at Durham lighting, Obama said regulatory change is a major part of his new jobs push.
" And Obama stated: "How do we deal with making sure our regulations make sense, so that we start eliminating ones that don't work, aren't making consumers better off or aren't improving our quality of life?" to which the Republicans noted "Obama's "shovel-ready" comment is more proof of the shortcomings on his economic policies.
" Okay so, now then, I asked myself, what on Earth is this gentleman doing as President of the United States, not knowing this prior to him taking office? Is he admitting he made a mistake and now he promises to fix it? Well, first of all, guess what everyone has been telling him for all these years while he was a lawyer suing corporations, a legislator in IL, a junior US Senator, and while he toured the country and Europe collecting campaign contributions while running for President? Claiming to be naïve, or even ignorant of the over regulation in this case isn't really a legitimate excuse.
And claiming to fix the over regulation after the Franks-Dodds Bill or using the EPA to shut down energy plants as is happening right now, and having Federal Labor Regulators attack the Boeing Company for building jets in a non-union dominated state - while claiming to be ready to fix the over-regulation problem is ridiculous.
I guess at this point his angle is that if he can promise "real regulation reform" now to all the corporations, then he can get them to kick-down sizable campaign contributions, which might be a nice Machiavellian tactic to reach his $1 billion campaign war chest, but is that really fair, and is that really honest governing? I don't see it as ethical quite frankly, I am gravely concerned, and hope corporations don't fall for it, or allow themselves to be shaken-down with this technique.
You see, I am not buying his excuse, apology, or politics or The Administration's attempt to claim ignorance on the issues of over regulation and how it is killing job growth, or any excuse that attempts to blame the last administration or infer that he inherited all this mess.
After all, he ran for President of the United States of America and leader of the free-world, and America deserves the best possible leader.
I say; "Enough is enough" - and I will leave you to think on this.
During Obama's adult life nearly every free-market thinker has been telling him that the problem is over-regulation, and even the rust-belt in Illinois was a victim of this, causing massive job losses in Northeastern IL - surely he knows his history right? Or are we to listen to the media trash Sarah Palin for her "supposed misquote" of Paul Revere's ride - one if by land, two if by sea and all that? America should forgo this upcoming Presidential Election, and perhaps for reasons of incompetence, simply dismiss this gentleman and everyone in his administration tomorrow.
Indeed, the amount of damage which has been done, and the amount of damage which could be done to our economy in the next 18-months is too great of a risk for the future vitality of the greatest nation ever created in all of human history.
Please consider my hard-hitting opinion here and think on it.
