How to Obtain Divorce Records in the State of Indiana
- 1). Visit www.in.gov/judiciary and click the "Court Case Public Records Search" link under the search navigation panel on the right-hand side of the page. Select the county in which your divorce took place from the "Case Records" drop-down menu, if you know it. Click the "Civil, Family & Probate" link to access your records search.
- 2). Enter your divorce's case number into the "Case Number" field. Click the "Search" button.
- 3). Click on the displayed available documents to preview and print them. These records include public records filings, such as cases summaries, dispositions, orders and financial information. These also might contain lawyer and judge identification information.
- 4). Obtain your divorce certificate from your Indiana County Clerk of the Circuit Court's office if you require it. Visit the Indiana Association of County Clerks' locator to find your county clerk's website and contact information. Visit the county clerk's office and present your photo identification. You will need to sign and submit a request form, and pay county-specific fees.
