United Airlines International Flight Restrictions
- Firearms, weapons, martial arts equipment and sharp items are not permitted on United Airlines flights as carry-on baggage. These items must be declared and carried in checked baggage. Sports equipment including baseball bats, golf clubs and ski poles must be carried as checked baggage. Work tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches and pliers are permitted as carry-on baggage but must be less than seven inches in length.
- Checked baggage for economy class must not weigh more than 50 pounds or 70 pounds for first class, business or military personnel. All baggage must not exceed 62 linear inches. Military personnel are permitted 115 linear inches.
- United Airlines allow one bag and one personal item such as a purse, briefcase or laptop computer during all flights. Carry-on baggage must fit under the plane seats or in the overhead bin and must not be more than 9x14x22 inches or 45 linear inches. The baggage may be required to travel as checked if it cannot be safely stowed on the flight.
