Getting a super fresh mouth and teeth means having refreshing breath, self-assurance, a great smile, and being much more kissable! I'm regularly surprised at how folks ignore or are blind to or maybe just too lazy to comply with these simple every day mouth and teeth care ideas. The majority of them are common sense. Some of these hygienic mouth solutions might be new to you. But I assure you that all of the mouth and teeth care ideas in this article are important and if observed WILL guide to improved oral hygiene!

1. Go to the dentist on a regular basis. Once or twice is year is ample for most people. Less often if you are low risk for periodontal and dental disease; more often if you are not low risk. The following are potentially high risk; smokers, diabetics, people with weakened immune systems or currently have periodontal disease, and people who simply tend to get dental carries very easily and often.

2. Use a soft toothbrush. Hard bristles can harm your gums and even harm the enamel on your teeth. And don't brush too hard!

3. Be sure to brush your tongue, too, when you brush your teeth. It gets rid of bacteria and other residues that lead to darkening of the tongue and bad breath.

4. Brush, or at least rinse your mouth, after having or drinking a sweet food or beverage .

5. Get your teeth cleaned by a dentist or dental hygienist regularly. Your teeth will look and feel wonderful and it can help avoid gum disease and tooth decay.

6. Floss daily. A flat floss like Glide is most effective and the most comfortable to use. This also goes a long way towards preventing poor breath.

7.Stay away from sugar and high fructose corn syrup like the plague.

8. Smoking is lousy for the health of your mouth, increasing your risk of periodontal disease and cancer of the mouth so stop smoking.

9.Eat an apple.

10. The ADA official advice is to brush your teeth twice a day. However, I feel that to be the minimum and advise a gentle yet thorough brushing after every meal.

11. Don't over-use teeth whitening toothpaste. Some lightening toothpastes use abrasives to scrub surface unsightly stains off your teeth, which may eventually lead to damaged tooth enamel if you are excessive about it.

12. Exchange those dark amalgam fillings for non-amalgam at a mercury-free dentist.

13. Stay away from amalgam fillings all together.
