My wife and I just came back from a 2 week cruise on the Celebrity Zenith to the Eastern Caribbean. I have read many reviews of this ship. Several were derogatory, but most were favorable. I would like to add my impressions. The Zenith is showing her age, true, but not as bad as I have read.
The bathrooms could use an update. She doesn't have all of the "GLITZ" of the newer ships, but that is what we liked.
She has many very intimate and comfortable lounges. Our favorite was the Cova Cafe. The entertainment was first class, as was the food. Each day they had drinks of the day. Not all frozen with umberella's in them and no alchol. They offered Manhattans, Old Fashions, as well as the "ladies" drinks. The drinks were generally very good. The food was also very good as was the service from the staff. It seemed like they couldn't do enough for you. I did find out one thing from our waiter. They are not on salary per say. They do get $50 a month. The rest is strictly tips. That is why Celebrity service is first rate. We did find out that Celebrity is selling the Zenith and is being replaced with an even smaller ship in April 2007.
