- 1). Select a ghillie suit appropriate to your hunting location. While any ghillie suit will serve to conceal your outline, they are far more effective if the color and pattern match the foliage of your hunting location. You may need to purchase, from an online retailer or outdoor store, more than one ghillie suit if you want wish to hunt in different seasons, as colors will change and leaves will fall.

A light fabric is ideal for the warmer weeks of early deer season, while those made with heavy fabric make hunting in freezing temperatures more comfortable.
