Installing Subwoofer Amps Without Crossover

    • 1). Lift the hood of the vehicle to access the battery cables. Loosen the bolts that secure each of the respective battery cables to the negative and positive battery terminals with the adjustable wrench. Lift the negative battery cable clamp away from the negative battery terminal and set it aside. Lift the positive battery cable clamp from the positive battery terminal.

    • 2). Place the ring terminal from the amplifier wiring kit onto the positive battery terminal. Replace the positive battery cable clamp onto the positive battery terminal. Tighten the bolt that secures the positive battery cable clamp to the battery terminal with the wrench.

    • 3). Plug the power cable into the ring terminal. Remove the fuse from the fuse holder on the ring terminal. Feed the power cable through the firewall of the vehicle into the inside cabin of the vehicle.

    • 4). Remove the vehicle's stock stereo from the dashboard stereo dock following the stereo removal instructions in the repair manual. Disconnect the stereo wiring from the back of the head unit. Connect the vehicle's stereo wiring to the wiring harness adapter. Plug the wiring harness adapter leads into the corresponding outlets on the back of the stock stereo. Plug the patch cables into the wiring harness adapter leads. Feed the patch cables through the back of the stereo dock and down to the floor of the vehicle.

    • 5). Replace the vehicle's stereo deck into the stereo mounting dock. Consult the repair manual for installation instructions.

    • 6). Route the patch cables along the passenger side of the vehicle to the rear cargo area of the car. Route the power cable from the driver's side foot-well, along with driver's side of the vehicle, to the rear cargo area. Plug the power cable into the power input on the amplifier. Plug the patch cables into the signal input on the amplifier.

    • 7). Connect the grounding wire from the grounding point on the amplifier to any screw or bolt in the rear cargo area of the vehicle that is directly connected to the vehicle's frame, no more than 18 inches away from the amplifier.

    • 8). Connect speaker wire to the positive and negative speaker outputs on the amp. Run the speaker wire to the location of the subwoofer. Connect the speaker wire to the positive and negative inputs on the sub. Return to the engine compartment.

    • 9). Replace the negative battery cable clamp onto the negative battery terminal. Replace the fuse into the fuse holder on the ring terminal. Close the vehicle's hood.
