    • 1). Load Unreal Development Kit. Click "File" and then "Load" to load an existing project or "New" to start a new one.

    • 2). Open the content browser and do a search for "sky." This will bring up a listing of sky materials you can use. Alternatively, you can create your own sky texture in another graphics editing program like Photoshop.

    • 3). Open the general browser window, and right-click on "New Material." Type a name for the material and create it. Double-click the icon for the new material in the browser to bring up its properties.

    • 4). Drag the sky texture from Step 2 into the instructions box of the material properties.

    • 5). Click on one of the tabs on the side of the texture box, and drag a connection line to the tab on the material box called "Emissive."

    • 6). In the search tab on the right side of the properties menu, type "panner" and drag a panner object into the instructions screen. Connect the panner box to the tab on the texture box called "UVs."

    • 7). Select the panner box. A properties menu should appear. Type a speed for the texture to move in the field labeled "Speed X."

    • 8). Type "Coord" in the object search field, and select "TextureCoordinate" from the list of objects. Connect the texture coordinate box to the tab of the panner box named "Coordinate."

    • 9). Select the texture coordinate object. In the properties menu below, change the values for "UTiling" and "VTiling," which will stretch the texture out.

On your map screen, right-click to open the content browser, type the name of your material, and drag it on to your map screen to apply the texture. The texture mesh will be moving to replicate an actual sky.
