How to Reuse Old Telephone Books

    • 1). Make it into a stepper. Wrap it in Con-Tact paper so that the pages won’t shift. After it is completely wrapped, you can use it as a stepper to get a few extra inches if you are trying to reach something that is on a high shelf.

    • 2). Transform it into a knee cushion that you can use in your garden. When kneeling on the ground as you are working in the garden, the pressure can cause you to have pain and discomfort in your knees. Take the old telephone book and put a few old towels on top of it. Wrap it up with clear packing tape or by using clear Con-Tact paper. You now have a soft cushion for your knees and you reused not only your old telephone book but also old towels.

    • 3). Make it into a booster seat. If someone is short, he may not be at an appropriate height when sitting at a table. Take clear Con-Tact paper or packing tape and wrap up the entire telephone book. If you sit on a telephone book without it being taped, you could slip off as the pages shift.

    • 4). Wrap up fragile items when you are storing them. If the items are open and hollow, you can stuff the pages from the telephone book into them. You can also use the pages to wrap around the item to keep the outside safe. Since the pages are thin, you are going to have to use several of them to create a thick enough cushion. Make sure to use tape to hold the pages in place and keep your item safe. After you wrap up the items and put them in a box, you can use additional telephone book pages to stuff in between each item to prevent the items from moving around.
