How to Find the IP Address of a Wireless Device
- 1). Click the "Start" button located on the task bar on your desktop.
- 2). Type "cmd" (without quotation marks) into the command dialog box located at the bottom of the Start menu. If there is no dialog box located in your start menu, click the "Run" icon; this will cause the command box to appear as a pop-up window on your desktop. Typing "cmd" into the command dialog will launch the MS-DOS command interface.
- 3). Type "ipconfig" (without quotation marks) into the MS-DOS command interface and press enter.
- 4). Find the number listed by "Default Gateway" on the MS-DOS command interface. This is your wireless device's IP address.
- 5). Click the red "X" in the top right corner of the window to close the MS-DOS command interface.
