Top 5 Things To Do In Europe This Summer!

23
As summer looms ahead, your mind starts to wander, considering what you want to do and where you want to go on holiday. If you want to make the most of your time away, then look no further than some of the most diverse and lively European cities. Holidays dont always have to be about catching some rays and relaxing by the pool if you dont want them to be. There are loads of ways for you to make the most of your time off work whilst enjoying some much needed sunshine in a different city. Europe travel offers exactly this, with numerous things for you to get stuck into over the summer months. Heres my pick of the best:

1. Museums in Paris

If youre after a bit of culture and some time to think, theres nothing better than wandering around an art gallery at your own pace looking at beautiful paintings. Paris, of course, is renowned for this. Head to the Louvre to catch a glimpse of the world-famous Mona Lisa or, for a more contemporary display, hit up the Pomipidou Centre. The city plays hosts to numerous other smaller, independent galleries, ensuring that there will always be something to your taste.

2. Listen to some traditional Irish Music

If youre feeling a bit blue about your holiday situation, there is nothing that will cheer you up more than a good old Irish music session. The magnificent instruments and lively tempo cant help but put a smile on even the saddest of faces. Head to the west of Ireland to experience the genre at its rawest.

3. The Plitvice Lakes, Croatia

If youre looking for peace and quiet, you will certainly find it here. The Plitvice National Park is considered one of the most stunning natural sights in Europe and boasts 16 interlinked bright turquoise lakes amidst a lush forest backdrop. Renowned for their vibrant colours, the lakes here range from azure to green to grey depending on the number of minerals and organisms in the water, as well as the angle of the sunlight. As you wander through this natural paradise, be sure to look out for the numerous gushing waterfalls that are dotted around the park.

4. Study Spanish in Madrid

Madrid is steeped in rich culture and history and is home to so many activities and sights for tourists. The best way to immerse yourself in the culture is to learn the language. Madrid offers many language programs and schools for you to begin your Spanish adventure.

5. Sziget Festival, Hungary

Situated just outside Budapest, the Sziget Festival takes place every year, offering a stage for numerous musicians from a diverse range of genres and an eclectic mix of food and drink stalls. Dance tents are dotted around the site if you fancy a boogie and single day tickets are available if youre not up for the whole camping palava.
