How to Decorate a Dining Room Like a Seafood Restaurant
- 1). Place a blue tablecloth on your table to mimic the ocean. Choose a solid blue cloth or one that has a wave design printed on it.
- 2). Replace your typical dining room chairs with a wooden bench. Seafood restaurants often have a beach feel to them, so simulate this by changing the furniture to match this theme. If you have a picnic bench outside, bring this in for the evening. You can also use inexpensive plastic chairs for this purpose.
- 3). Print out images of anchors on card stock, and then cut them out with scissors. Use small pushpins or painter's tape to place them on the dining room walls. Use this same procedure to place a variety of sea-related images on your walls, such as fish, shrimp or seashells.
- 4). Set the table using plain white dishes or ones printed with a nautical theme. Finish the table off by placing a variety of seashells around the table. Wash them thoroughly before placing them on the table.
- 5). Complete the seafood restaurant-look by adding a custom-printed menu. Use a word processing program on your computer, and type out your seafood menu for the evening, including appetizers, entrees and desserts. Include any drink choices for the night. Print each menu out, and mount it on card stock. Place this at each place setting.
