I get a lot of questions from people regarding what I charge my clients either being too cheap (which honestly I think it is) or being too expensive.
I have noticed a trend lately from a lot of internet businesses and marketers trying to "go cheap" and outsource overseas or hire an inexperienced US worker to do a professional job.
There are several reasons why the old adage you get what you pay for is so true especially online.
Experience Sure you can find a VA out there that will work for $6-$10 dollars an hour but I can guarantee you are going to being paying twice that amount in the time it costs you to train, massage, train some more, and explain simple tasks such as how to setup an email account in Outlook, what proper email and phone etiquette is, how to use advanced features in PowerPoint and excel for that matter.
Internet Marketing Knowledge Please raise your hand if you are 100 percent positive your foreign hired VA understands everything internet marketing related such as what social networking sites are and why they are important, how clickbank works, how to setup an autoresponder, or even how to setup a product in 1shoppingcart.
Again these are tasks that you must pay for.
Culture Differences Again no one understands a US business as well as someone within the US.
Not only that but if someone is personally calling up my clients I want to know that my clients can understand them clearly and feel comfortable dealing with them on the same level that they feel comfortable with me.
If you are working with cheap undereducated workers or with someone who is classy, professional, and has real business experience? A lot of people think that they can't afford a professional virtual assistant but you really can if you know what to outsource and how to assign tasks to your assistant.
When you hire someone with experience you with not pay for training, you will not pay for mistakes, and you will feel comfortable knowing this individual is as vested in your business as you are.
Think of it this way if you went to the hospital because you needed brain surgery, would you want the most experience brain surgeon operating on you or a family member, or would you want the cheapest guy in the room? Everyone knows you would hire the top notch provider and you need to think of your business as a lifeline for you.
