How to Be a Teenage Princess for Halloween
- 1). Slip into a princess gown. Pull an old, pouffy prom dress from the closet or browse the racks of a thrift shop for a fancy gown. Make the gown more ornate by decorating it with some glitter, ribbons and lace.
- 2). Keep your shoulders warm with a majestic cape. While a flowing cape is an optional piece, it creates a regal look that is perfect for teenage royalty attending a medal ceremony or other stately event. Create a cloak from luscious velvet in a royal shade, such as navy blue or violet, by simply cutting the cape from a piece of fabric, then gluing rickrack, a wavy ribbon like border, around the edge of the cape. Feel free to don a sash and some medals, too, if this is the look you're going for. Alternatively, a wrap of faux fur also looks fancy and fit for a chilly princess.
- 3). Style your hair. Show off your gorgeous locks by curling it into soft, rolling curls. You may also opt for a fancy updo, such as a lovely chignon.
- 4). Apply some make up. A little make up, such as mascara, eye shadow, lip stick and rouge, will accentuate your facial features and give you a dramatic appearance. Feel free to spray on some glitter, too.
- 5). Step into some shoes. Ballet flats or other shoes have a dainty look that will be comfortable and princess-like. Heels will also look good with a teenage princess costume.
- 6). Top off your royal look with a sparkling tiara. A wreath of flowers provides a naturally beautiful alternative. A medieval cone-style princess hat is yet another way to complete the costume. To make the hat, roll a thick piece of paper into a cone-like shape and tape it together. Trim the bottom of the cone to give it an even edge. Adorn the hat with glitter, paint, jewels and other decorations.
- 7). Pick out some other princess accessories, if you'd like. Make your neckline shimmer with a sparkling necklace. A princess wand, staff, or flower corsage are other ways to complete your princess costume.
