The 1993 Dodge Colt was in two trims, the base model and the GL. Both trims come in either a two-door coupe or a four-door sedan. Other than the seating differences, all Colts had mostly the same specifications. The automaker also manufactured this car as the Plymouth Colt, based on the Mitsubishi Mirage. Often, you can use replacement parts from any of these sources. - The 1993 Colt coupe is 171.1 inches long, 66.1 inches high and 51.4 inches wide with a curb weight of 2,085 pounds. The sedan is 174 inches and weighs 2,195 pounds. In either model, the front seats have up to 43 inches of legroom, and headroom of about 39 inches. The four-door has slightly more legroom at 33.5 inches compared with the two-door's 31 inches.
- Two inline four-cylinder engines were available for any model, either a 1.5 Liter with 92 horsepower or a 1.8 Liter with 113 horsepower.
The standard transmission is a five-speed manual with options of either a three-speed automatic or a four-speed automatic with overdrive in the GL trim, and the four-speed automatic with overdrive for the base trim. All versions are front-wheel drive. - All models of the 1993 Colt have front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. The GL has a front anti-roll bar and an optional touring suspension system.
Locks, windows and trunk release are all mechanical. Many features were not standard for any model, but were available. Options include air conditioning, an AM/FM stereo, cargo light, intermittent wipers, and rear defrosters. - The EPA estimates for the 1993 Dodge Colt are 25 city miles per gallon and 30 highway miles per gallon, for an average of about 27 mpg. The five-speed manual transmission can get as high as 39 mpg in highway driving depending on driving style.
