How to Search for a Missing Person in Texas
- 1). File a missing persons report with your local police. These reports can then be searched by other Texas police departments and by the public via Texas's "Missing Persons Bulletin" home page. Speaking with the police is one of the most important tasks in starting the search for a missing person.
- 2). Look through the Texas "Unidentified Persons Bulletin." This is a searchable list of all unidentified bodies discovered by local and state authorities. This is a graphic and grim site and should not be used by any person who is not emotionally prepared for what they may find.
- 3). Post flyers and posters in your neighborhood with a recent photograph of the missing person and contact information.
- 4). Register the missing person on a national database such as The National Center for Missing Adults. While the majority of missing persons turn up in areas close to home, occasionally a national listing is the key factor in bringing a person home.
