The New York State Department of Health is partnered with a company called VitalChek for all phone orders. The total cost to receive a divorce certificate by phone is $52.25 as of 2010. The certificate itself is $30.00, plus VitalChek's charge of $7.25 per transaction, plus a $15.00 priority handling charge. You will receive your certified copy within 5 to 7 business days of placing your order. Overnight delivery by UPS is available for an additional $12.00.
- 3). Order a Divorce Certificate online. If your divorce occurred after January 1, 1963, you can order a copy of your divorce certificate online at the internet orders link listed under Resources. The total cost to receive a divorce certificate online is the same as the cost for phone orders.
- 4). Order a Divorce Certificate by mail. If your divorce occurred after January 1, 1963, you can order a copy of your divorce certificate by mail. The mail-in form is located under Resources.
