Basic Operations

• The Coolpix S220 is a very simple camera, and Nikon has simplified its use by giving two main options: shooting mode and review mode. Press the camera icon to enter shooting mode.
  
  

Changing Shooting Modes

• When in shooting mode, you can change to scene select or video mode by using the multi-selector (the round button on the back) to scroll through the camera's available modes.
  
  

Taking Photos

• Once you've selected a shooting mode you like, look through the viewfinder to frame your photo. Hold the shutter button halfway down to focus the shot, then press the button fully to take the photo. In video mode, press the shutter button completely to begin recording and press it again to end recording.
  
  

Obtaining the Full User's Guide

• Nikon cameras come with a user guide, but if you've lost or misplaced yours, or bought your camera used, you can download the guide from Nikon's website. You'll need to have your serial number ready to be able to print the guide, but can view it online without any information.
