How to Install 1999 S-10 Stereo Speakers
- 1). Remove two Phillips screws from the top of the speaker grille located on the right side of the dash board. Slide the grille to the rear to pull off.
- 2). Remove the 9/32-inch bolt-head screws on the perimeter of the speaker. Pull the speaker out of the cavity and unplug the wiring connected to the back.
- 3). Plug the wiring into the new speaker and place the speaker in the opening. Screw the speaker in place with the 9/32-inch bolt-head screws. Replace the grille and screw it in place with the Phillips screws.
- 4). Repeat Steps 1 through 3 on the left side of the dashboard.
- 1). Remove one Phillips screw from the trim surrounding the door release on the right side door.
- 2). Remove two 9/32-inch bolt-head screws located on the bottom side of the door pull handle.
- 3). Pry around the edges of the door panel with a panel tool to release the retaining clips holding the door panel to the door.
- 4). Remove the Torx T9 screws on the perimeter of the speaker. Pull the speaker out and unplug the wiring connector. Plug the new speaker in and place it in the door. Screw the speaker in with the 9/32-inch screws.
- 5). Replace the door panel by reversing your steps. Repeat the steps above on the other door of the truck.
