Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse Instructions
- 1). Open the casing of the mouse and insert batteries according to the diagram printed on the interior of the device. Close and reattach the casing.
- 2). Plug the USB receiver device into an available USB port on your computer.
- 3). Place the mouse and laptop within several feet of each other to ensure proper signal strength and communication between the mouse and receiver.
- 4). Press the button on the receiver. While the receiver light is blinking, press the button on the bottom of the optical mouse.
- 5). Ensure that the receiver light remains steady, indicating a successful connection. Wait for the computer to recognize the device. You can now use the basic functions of the mouse.
- 6). Download the IntelliPoint drivers from the Microsoft website (see Resources). On the download page, select "Mouse" from the first drop-down menu. Select the appropriate "Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse" model from the second menu. Select your operating system and language and click "Go." Select the provided link to save the files to your hard drive.
- 7). Open the downloaded files to install Microsoft IntelliPoint drivers onto your hard drive. You may need to restart your system for the drivers to take effect.
- 8). Open the drivers via the "Mouse" icon in the Control Panel or by selecting "Microsoft Mouse" from the list of programs in the "Start" menu. From this menu, you can modify the function of each mouse button and access other mouse interface options.
