Cleaning Suede Vans

• 1). Use a dry towel to rub off any surface dirt from the exterior of the suede shoes and prepare them for washing.
  
  
• 2). Put some suede cleanser on a sponge and rub it gently onto the shoe until dirt and stains are gone or greatly reduced. You can purchase this type of cleanser at most shoe stores or online (see Resources).
  
  
• 3). Leave your pair of suede Vans out in the sun to dry naturally.
  
  

Cleaning Canvas Vans

• 1). Deposit some Woolite or another mild laundry detergent into a washing machine and set the washer to a warm temperature.
  
  
• 2). Place your pair of canvas Vans in the washing machine and activate the wash cycle.
  
  
• 3). Remove the shoes from the machine once the cycle is finished and put them in a sunny spot where they can dry. If you are in a hurry to wear the shoes, you may use a blow-dryer to get the job done, making sure not to put the dryer nozzle too close the shoe while drying.
