How to Replace a Remote Keyless Entry System on a Subaru WRX
- 1). Deactivate the alarm if your vehicle is equipped with one. Open the drivers-side door, get in the vehicle and close the door, making sure all the other doors are also closed.
- 2). Put the key into the ignition and turn the key to the "On" position then back to the "Off" position a total of 10 times within a 15 second span. The horn sounds to indicate the vehicle has entered "Programming Mode."
- 3). Open and close the driver's door. Press the "Lock" or "Unlock" button on the remote you are programming to the vehicle. Repeat this step to program additional remotes. The horn sounds twice after programming each remote to indicate the remote has been programmed.
- 4). Remove the key from the ignition after all the remotes have been programmed. The horn sounds to indicate the end of "Programming Mode."
