How to Pick an Ice Cooler Size
- 1). Take inventory, either mentally or physically, of all the items you plan to carry in the ice chest. This is an important starting place when choosing a size since you need to fit everything in it. You might, for example, be packing a few sandwiches and a bottle of wine. Or you could be stashing water bottles on ice for an entire youth football team. It helps to plan ahead.
- 2). Think about the path that you'll be taking with your cooler. For example, if you'll be on flat ground or doing plenty walking, consider a cooler that has wheels instead of one that you'll have to carry. This information helps you select the perfect-sized ice cooler.
- 3). Take a look at the place where you'll be storing the cooler. Determine the best shape for fitting the cooler in that space. For example, large box-like coolers can carry more, but they might not fit inside a compact car. It might make more sense to get multiple small coolers instead.
