How to Install a Wall Mount for a Sony Flat-Panel TV
- 1). Determine which wall the set is to be mounted on. Use a stud finder to locate two studs, ideally 16 inches on-center.
- 2). Place the bracket that mounts to the wall at the desired height. Mark the locations of the lag bolt mounting holes with a pencil.
- 3). Use a drill and 3/4-inch bit to drill the holes marked in Step 2.
- 4). Return the wall bracket to position, aligning the drilled holes with the lag bolt mounting holes on the bracket.
- 5). Use a socket wrench and appropriate-sized insert, tightening the bolts into the studs. Ensure that washers are placed on the lag bolts prior to using them. Do not overtighten.
- 6). In the wall mount hardware kit, locate the prescribed screws to mount the wall bracket to the rear panel of the set.
- 7). Place the TV-side bracket in position over the mounting holes. Use the appropriate screwdriver to install screws and washers through the mounting bracket.
- 8). Recruit a helper to assist in lifting the flat panel onto the wall bracket. Most brackets allow level fine-tuning by adjusting small screws behind the panel. Use a level to confirm accuracy. Consult the bracket's instruction manual for the specific location of adjustment points.
- 9). Hide wires by running them through the wall or with channel molding.
