What Sequence Of Emails Should I Send To A Subscriber?
There are 4 main types of emails you can send to a subscriber, they are: 1) Content emails.
2) Sales emails.
3) Emails with free gifts.
4) Emails that require a response.
Content emails contain, as they suggest, content that is useful for the subscriber.
It can educate them, inform them and answer any questions they may have about you, your products, or your services.
The main purpose of a content email is to build a relationship with a subscriber so they continue to keep opening your emails.
Sales emails will contain a special offer and a link to a sales page where the subscriber can find out about one of your products or perhaps an affiliate product you are promoting.
Note: the sales email should not be a sales letter, the only purpose of a sales email is to get the subscriber to click through to your sales page where the product is on offer.
Emails with free gifts usually contain links to a download page where the subscriber can download a useful Ebook, MP3, video or piece of software that they can use for free.
This free gift should be a quality item that the subscriber will find easy to use and will help them overcome a problem they might have online.
Emails that require responses are usually in the form of a survey.
A typical example might be: I am going to be producing a new MP3 series next week, what would you like me to teach you about? Often, a percentage of subscribers will respond and tell you what is causing them a problem in their business and what they need to overcome.
Each of the 4 preceding types of emails has their place in your autoresponder series but the actual sequence that they are sent out in is all important.
I used to send more content emails than anything else but I am tending more towards getting subscribers to read the sales emails and click through to one of my website sales pages.
I think that the ideal sequence is 2 content emails and 1 free gift email for every sales letter email I send out.
This way, you don't appear to be loading your subscribers with too many offers for your products.
If you do send out to many sales emails, you will look like you are just after the subscriber's money and don't really care about them.
