    • 1). Write your bio. This should be a story-based account of your band's history. Make it as interesting and concise as possible. It should take up no more than a single page.

    • 2). Write your fact sheet. This is a simple list of specific facts about your band and should include the following information: band name, hometown, genre of music, list of well known bands you sound like, year you were formed, discography, names of band members and what instruments they play, any notable honors the band has received, a list of where the band's music has been aired if any, such as radio stations, or in movies or television.

    • 3). Write your quotes sheet. This is a one-page selection of quotes from any press coverage you have received.

    • 4). Gather your music. Get your best songs ready to be included in the press kit.

    • 5). Get your photos together. Make sure your photos are high quality and professional.

    • 6). Put your materials together online. You can use a variety of online services to do this. Facebook and Myspace are obvious and free choices. You can sign up for a music account on Myspace or a music fan page on Facebook, and then upload your photos and music, then post your bio and fact sheets. You can also use services like Reverbnation, Sonicbids, or Myppk. Log on to these sites and register for a new account as a musician or band. Then post your bio, fact and quote sheets and upload your photos and music.
