Quad-4 Engine Specs
- Although several versions of the Quad-4 were developed, two main versions prevailed. The "D" code engine was the original version. It had a peak power of 160 horsepower and an electronically regulated top speed of 107 MPH. The stroke and bore was 87 mm and 92 mm respectively. The intake valve was 36 mm, and the exhaust valve was 29.8 mm.
- The "A" code engine was only made for five-speed cars manufactured 1989 and later. It had a peak power of 190 horsepower, and the top speed was 142 MPH. The stroke, bore and intake valve were the same size as in the "D" code version, but the exhaust valve was slightly larger at 31.3 mm.
- Some vehicles the Quad-4 engine was featured in include the Pontiac Grand Am, Chevrolet Beretta, Oldsmobile Calais and Oldsmobile Achieva.
