Motorcycle training schools are available throughout the United States. Many states often have more than one school location from which to choose. Prices vary, depending on which class you plan to attend. There are several training classes ranging from beginners, intermediate and advanced. They involve classroom education, along with on-motorcycle training in a traffic-free area. Depending on state laws, once you have completed the training class successfully you are waived the written and/or riding test portions from the state and granted your motorcycle license. Additional applications and fees may be required. - It is important to be prepared for any type of weather during these courses.Rain image by RandomShots from Fotolia.com
Basic riding courses are offered through a motorcycle safety foundation course typically licensed by each state. These classes are ideal for those who have always wanted to ride a motorcycle but never knew how to ride safely. Basic riding courses generally supply the motorcycle, helmet and gloves. Each student must supply his own safety glasses or goggles, long-sleeved shirt or jacket, over-the- ankle boots and sturdy pants. Class schedules are generally held during the week or the weekends and take up to 15 hours spread over two or more days. Once you have successfully completed the training course, you will be awarded a certificate that can save you up to 10 percent or more on your motorcycle insurance, depending on your insurance carrier. - Master your motorcycleman enjoying a motorcycle city ride isolated image by alma_sacra from Fotolia.com
The intermediate course is generally cheaper than the beginner course. This course is designed for riders who understand the basics of motorcycle riding and have an instruction permit or an "M" endorsement before attending the class. This course requires that you use your own motorcycle for the training class. The training class is approximately five hours and schedules are often set for either weekdays or weekends. This class uses both classroom environment and riding exercises. Upon completion, you may receive a certificate that will help you to get discount insurance rates depending on your insurance carrier and that also might waive the riding portion of the state license exam. - Improve your riding health.man enjoying a motorcycle ride in the city image by alma_sacra from Fotolia.com
