"La la la la la la..." If you're feeling nostalgic, or you just want to introduce your kids to one of the classic cartoons from your childhood, there are plenty of Smurfy episodes now on DVD. With the upcoming The Smurfs Movie set for release July 29 2011, I expect we'll soon be seeing a lot more of those little blue characters and their mushroom houses.

1. The Smurfs: Season 1, Vol. 1

The Smurfs: Season 1, Vol. 1 features the first 19 episodes of the Hanna-Barbera produced series that dominated Saturday mornings for years. The DVD also features a bonus episode, "The Smurf's Springtime Special," as well as "Smurfs: The Music Video." It is interesting to note that, before The Smurfs became popular in the US, they were well known for their music. According to the official Smurfs website, over 10 million copies of Smurf CDs have been sold in the last 3 years alone.More »

2. The Smurfs: Season 1, Vol. 2

Featuring 20 episodes of The Smurfs, this 2-disc set continues the collection with more episodes from the first season. The DVD also contains an interesting bonus feature: "I Smurf the Smurfs: Memories of the Original Smurfs Era and the Lasting Impact They've Made." Lasting impact is right, and likely to last much longer if that upcoming movie is successful.More »

3. The Smurfs: True Blue Friends

True Blue Friends contains five episodes of The Smurfs: "S-Shivering S-Smurfs," "Turncoat Smurf," "The Smurf Who Couldn't Say No," "The Haunted Castle," and "The Black Hellebore." The DVD also contains a bonus feature, "Meet the Smurfs," featuring character profiles and trivia. Some fans have not been thrilled with the decision to release these DVDs with only five episodes when they had started releasing season volumes already. However, this DVD is a great option if you want to spend less money and get just a few episodes to show the kids.More »

4. The Smurfs: Smurfy Tales

Like True Blue Friends, Smurfy Tales contains five episodes of The Smurfs: "The Last Laugh," "Johan's Army," "The A-Maz-ing Smurfs," "The Good, the Bad, and the Smurfy," and "The Lost City of Yore."
