    Christmas Tree Project

    • Select and print out an outline of a Christmas tree and provide each child with a printout. Help small children cut out the tree from the paper following the outline. Provide the children with green crayons or markers to color in the tree, along with a box of colorful fuzzy balls. Children can glue the fuzzy balls all over the tree as if they are ornaments. After giving each child a small square of foil, show the kids how make a foil star to glue to the top of their tree.

    Gingerbread Man

    • Print out an outline of a gingerbread cookie and provide each child with the outline and a sheet of sandpaper. Have the children trace the paper outline onto the smooth side of the sand paper, then cut out the gingerbread man out of the sandpaper. Give each child a cinnamon stick and have them rub it all over the gingerbread man, giving it a holiday smell. Provide the children with white glue, mini googly eyes, tiny buttons and red and white construction paper so they can decorate the face and body of the gingerbread man. Make a hole punch at the top of the head for string so the children can hang their masterpiece on their Christmas tree.

    Santa Face

    • Select and print out a picture of a Santa face with a really big beard and provide each child with one. Have the children cut out the Santa face and color in the red part of his hat. They also can color in his face whatever color they want him to be. Provide the children with a bag of cotton balls and show them how to place glue all over the beard area, then press the cotton balls onto the area for the beard. Place glue on the white rim of Santa's hat and use the cotton balls for the rim as well.

    Shiny Ornaments

    • Print out large outlines of ornaments and provide them to each child. Provide lots of glitter, sprinkles and any other small shiny materials. Allow the children to get as creative as they, mixing and matching colors and material. Encourage them to cover all of the ornament so that there is no white showing. Have the children set the decorated ornaments in a safe place to dry, then turn them over and write a friendly Christmas message on the back. Have the children exchange their paper ornament with another person as a Christmas gift.
