Seven-Year Peace Agreement

43

    History of the Prophecy

    • Daniel had been praying fervently for forgiveness for himself and the people of Israel, conquered by King Nebuchadnezzar's army on a number of occasions and held in Babylonian captivity. The 586 BC attack had destroyed the first Jewish Temple where offerings and sacrifices were made to God.

    70 Weeks

    • During Daniel's prayers, the angel Gabriel visited him (Daniel 9:20-22) and gave Daniel understanding of future events regarding Israel, including the Seven Year Peace Agreement mentioned in Daniel 9:27. It is at the end of what is known as Daniel's "70 Weeks Prophecy" that foretold the specified times for the Jews to return to Israel, rebuilding of the Jewish Temple (the second temple) and the ministry and death of the Messiah (Jesus Christ).

    Daniel 9:27

    • The translation from the King James Version: "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate." After which, the New International Version further adds, "until the end that is decreed is poured out on him."

    Deciphering Prophecy

    • The "him" that will confirm the covenant (a binding agreement) known as the Seven-Year Peace Agreement is an individual in a world leadership capacity who appears benevolent but eventually sets himself in opposition to and as a replacement for God. This man is known as the anti-Christ in Biblical end-times prophecies.

A "day" means a year based on the Hebrew 360-day lunar calendar. Therefore a "week" is equivalent to seven years. This key to deciphering prophecy is based on Ezekiel 4:6--"I have appointed thee each day for a year."

Interpretation of numbers are detailed at BibleProphecyTruth.com. Seven symbolizes "divine worship, obedience and rest" that will occur when the Seven-Year Peace Agreement is signed. The agreement will be broken at the three-and-a-half-year mark, as "3 ½ represents rejection and apostasy."

    Reason for the Agreement

    • May 14, 1948, was the rebirth of Israel as an independent state. The very next day, Israel was invaded in every direction by armies of five Arab nations. Israel won that battle for independence, but has since struggled against neighbors who deny her right to exist. Arab descendants claim just as fervent a claim to the land. The Seven-Year Peace Agreement will come at a time when tensions against Israel are extremely harsh. Dr. Gavin Finley suggests that it will be an agreement long in the works but never fulfilled, and Israel will once again give away land for peace.

    In the Agreement

    • Israel will be allowed to rebuild the Jewish temple, making this the third temple. Most likely it will stand on the original foot print, alongside the Dome of the Rock which is a Muslim Mosque currently occupying the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. The Jews will resume worship and sacrifices to God as they had done in the previous two temples, the last one being destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD.

    Breaking the Agreement

    • Halfway through the Seven-Year Peace Agreement, the anti-Christ will enter the Jewish Temple and declare himself to be god---the only god. The Jews will be ordered to stop offerings and sacrifices to their God, and the anti-Christ will demand worship from all corners of the world, using the Jewish Temple as his own where he will establish an idol of himself for worship. All those who fail to worship will be dealt with harshly for the next three-and-a-half years. The result will not be peace in the Middle East or any other place on earth--only chaos.
