URC Total Control Home Multi Zone Integration and Control Review Part.1
As we embark on the age of complete symbiosis between technology and our lifestyles, the need for an easy all in one solution for home audio/video control is ever present. Here at Maximum Audio Video we are proud to offer Universal Remote Control Total Control as a unique yet comfortable solution for complete home integration. The Total Control products range from streaming music players, 7.2 networked home theater processor/amplifiers, multi-zone networked amplifiers, wi-fi and rf control processors, and iPad/iPhone integration to name a few. As a home integrator I personally have found the Total Control system a delight to install and program. In this article I will touch on a few of their products.
The Total Control DMS-1200 offers a multi-zone networked amplifier consisting of 50 watts of power over 6 stereo zones, and 2 stereo pre-amp zones for a total of 8 zones. These can be linked to other DMS-1200's for a total of 32 zones. The DMS-1200 offers 4 analog to digital inputs which can be streamed to other DMS amplifiers. The DMS-1200 is networked to provide instant audio streams to other zones, and concrete control over the unit from all networked controllers.
An offshoot of the larger unit, the DMS-100 is a single zone networked amplifier which consists of 1 50 watt stereo output, 1 stereo pre-amp output, and 1 stereo analog input to stream to other DMS amplifiers. This unit allows for a localized single zone system without the need for anything other than a ethernet connection to the existing home network.
The DMS-AV is a 7.2 channel surround sound, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio amplifier/processor which completely integrates any surround system into the DMS system. The DMS-AV also provides video scaling up to 1080p, with 5 HDMI 1.4a inputs, 2 component inputs, 4 composite inputs, 1 HDMI output, and is 3D TV capable. The 7.2 channels are powered by 125 watts per channel, with 2 subwoofer outputs. The DMS-AV also gives 2 additional stereo analog inputs to stream to other DMS amplifiers.
As you can see URC Total Control is designed for flexibility and offers multiple solutions to an existing home project without the need for long speaker runs. A simple ethernet infrastructure is all that is needed to stream audio throughout one's home/business. Total Control can be programmed to be controlled by their TRC-780 RF remote, TRC-1280 wi-fi remote, and iPad/iPhone mobile apps. All of this control can be customized to allow from complete access to the system for the master user or limited access for guests, which is a great option if you've ever had a non-techno savvy guest try and operate some of the non-user friendly options from the systems of yesteryear.
There are many other items to discuss in the Total Control line but for now well leave it at these 3. If you would like to hear or see a demo of URC Total Control please feel free to stop by our store in Tampa, FL., give us a call 813-887-4629, visit us online, or send me an email.
