  Visitors to the Hawaiian island of Maui have options if they want to add a tour of the American naval base, museum and memorial at Pearl Harbor to their vacation. Tour operators offer day trips to Pearl Harbor, which is on the Hawaiian island of Oahu 116 miles away. Daily jet flights cover the distance in 40 to 55 minutes.

• Discover Hawaii Tours has a one-day sightseeing tour of Pearl Harbor. The flight leaves Maui at 5:15 a.m. and returns at 8:30 p.m. The tour includes a visit to the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial. It overlooks the sunken battleship, where the remains of 1,076 sailors and Marines killed aboard the Arizona on Dec. 7, 1941, are still interred. Visitors also can board the U.S.S. Bowfin, a submarine that fought in the Pacific in WWII. A tour of the battleship U.S.S. Missouri, on whose deck the Japanese signed surrender documents to end the war, is also included. • Hawaii Activities offers a narrated, 11 1/2-hour tour of Pearl Harbor. Flights leave Maui at 8 a.m. The tour starts at the visitor center with documentary film of the attack. A Navy launch transports visitors to the Arizona Memorial. Tour participants also visit the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, where some casualties of Pearl Harbor are buried. • Adventure Maui offer an unescorted day trip from Maui to Oahu that includes a rental car. Visitors can choose how long they stay at Pearl Harbor and visit other attractions on Oahu.
