17
Used motorcycles for sale classifieds online can be an awesome way to find your next used motorcycles for sale at a best deal price.
However, as with everything, you really need to be made more fully aware of some of the pitfalls, so that you are better armed to come to making an excellent informed choice, whether the motorcycle you intend to buy, is the bargain of the century that you hope for.
Some things you need to check not just once, but twice, to absolutely make sure that the motorcycle you want, meets all of your expectations.
First and foremost, read the sellers description in it's entirety.
Do not be tempted to gloss over, skimming your eye over the full description.
If the seller is honest, the way s/he has worded the advertisement has been accomplished in such a way that the intention is there to help you make a good informed buying decision.
Do not be tempted to simply look at the photographs if supplied, but read thoroughly all of the content, twice if needs be.
Keep a pen and pad handy.
Does the motorcycle that you are interested in, really tick all of your boxes, all of your requirements? If not, what is missing? What would you like to ask the seller, by email, pm or on the telephone? This is your hard earned cash we are talking about here, so do not be afraid to ask as many questions as possible.
The seller will not mind you asking perfectly reasonable questions - they want you to buy the motorcycle afterall! Does the advertisement describe the motorcycle in a very clear and concise manner?Does the used motorcycles for sale classifieds advertisement read very fluently, or do you detect that the seller is intentionally holding something back?Often, your gut instinct is your best friend.
If the advertisement does read very well and covers comprehensively all the points that you as a buyer would normally ask, you can then, with caution, assume that the seller is as honest as you are and that the deal will be a very good one.
The classified ad itself, apart from the body of the text, are all the other fields filled in correctly with the right information, for example, the exact age of the motorcycle, is it new or used, how many miles has it done, on what kind of roads were these miles clocked up?What of the condition of the motorcycle, is there anything that the seller has inadvertently left out of their motorcycle classified advertisement? If you do not ask, perhaps you will never know, until it is too late.
So think to ask everything possible.
What about modifications, were these carried out personally or were they carried out by an authorized dealer repair shop?Perhaps you are looking for total originality, then you certainly need to ask if there have been any modifications carried out at all, which for you might detract from the interpretation on your part of the motorcycles total authenticity.
Has the motorcycle ever been involved in an accident of any kind?Is the paintwork absolutely perfect?Ask the seller if there is anything else that you need to know.
For example, outstanding finance etc, do they have clear title to sell it etc.
What about service history?Does the seller have all the receipts for work carried out? As with most buying experiences, a good dollop of commonsense never goes amiss, so write every question down no matter how insignificant it may seem at the time, if the seller is 100% honest, then they will truly appreciate you asking so many questions.
Abiding by these few simple buying guidelines could save you not only a large amount of money, but also a lot of heartache too.
If you are stuck for the right kind of questions to ask, ask a friend of yours, someone you trust very well to lend you a hand, this can be a member of your family with experience on the subject or someone you may know in the motorcycle industry.
