It is also used with chloroquine or quinine in the treatment of malaria. Being a bacterial protein synthesis inhibitor it helps in inhibiting the production or growth of bacteria.

Dermatitis should not be taken lightly as it is often chronic. There are various kinds of inflammations caused due to anaerobic bacteria. Some anaerobic bacteria produce toxins that are highly dangerous to human beings. However we can control its spread with proper medications. The symptoms of dermatitis are characterized by swollen wounds, itchy pink or red rash. These wounds or rashes stink badly due to the formation of sores or pus. The most vital part is that if the infection is caused in the blood stream it gives rise to chilliness and fever thereby resulting in death of a person. Thus dermatitis treatments are of utmost important.

Anaerobic bacteria can be found anywhere on the skin for instance the mouth, vagina or in the gastrointestinal tract. The diagnosis of dermatitis is made on the basis of how the rash looks and where it is located. It gives rise to various types of infections like like sinus infections, ear infections, dental infections, botulinus intoxication, tetanus, gonorrhea, syphilis and chlamydia. They are usually present in our body as our body tends to face some or the other kind of injuries or damage. Our immunity protects us from the harm caused by them. However, sometimes the growth of bacterias does not stop due to various reasons further causing more and more infection. Tumor patient, patient with injury or any infection and those undertaking surgery are at risk to develop this kind of disease.

There are certain bacterias that helps in keeping environment clean. The different class of anaerobic bacteria is e. coli, bacteroides, clostridium genus and staphylococcus genus. E. coli is a common bacterium that is found in the intestine of living beings causing acute respiratory problems, diarrhea and urinary tract infections. One of the type, E. coli 0157:H7 is the most toxic form causing food poisoning. Shiga toxin, produced by this bacterium is one of the most powerful poisons and is fatal to human beings. Bacteroides can infect several parts of our body like the peritoneal cavity and the female urogenital tract. Some bacteroides species are helpful to us while others are not. Clostridium genus is of three type's viz. C. botulinum, C. tetani and C. perfringens. C. botulinum produces the deadliest toxin called botulinum, C. tetani produces tetanospasmin toxin and C. perfringens produces food poisoning, gas gangrene and tissue necrosis infections. Staphylococcus genus is found on human skin. One type of Staphylococcus aureus causes infections from boils or acne to life threatening infections like meningitis, pneumonia and toxic shock syndrome or TSS.
