14
How can we learn more about controlling panic attacks in those who frequently suffer from them? If you suffer from them then more than likely you suffer a wide variety of physical symptoms.
Some of these symptoms may include but are by no means limited to chest pains, loss of control, and a feeling of suffocation.
This experience can be horrible and make you feel like you're dying.
This condition can seem to spawn from nowhere and at any time, place, and to anyone.
It doesn't even need a reason to hit you either.
But excessive stress can be a contributing factor, and at first its almost completely unpredictable.
As unpleasant as this may seem, the body will increase its sensitivity to panic attacks making them even harder to control when the are in close proximity to one another.
This is a very big problem if you have a chain of them without warning.
A large contributor to the occurrence of these episodes is related to the physical location of the first one.
A lot of times it happens in a place that cannot be easily escaped.
These locations could be your place of employment, the supermarket, or at a social event.
Once it happens at one of these locations you are likely to have difficulties when returning to these places due to the horrid memory of the trauma.
If you've had the panic attack at your workplace, your control when there may decrease because of the anxiety associated with the experience.
This makes it quite difficult to deal with this condition.
You may feel the need to completely realign the fabric of your lifestyle.
Which in some cases may be exactly what is necessary at that point in your life because of the stress.
The situations and examples I have just illustrated show you the nature of the beast, which is anxiety.
It doesn't matter what you do or where you live, you could be a victim.
Nobody is immune to this associative condition.
The primary task master is fear in general.
Anxiety can rear its ugly head at any time and spawn yet another panic attack.
A typical panic attack feeds on the fear you have of experiencing another anxiety attack.
The reality of this is, the more fearful you are of having another attack, the more likely you are to have one.
If you want to control your anxiety attacks, you must learn to get a firm grip on your fear.
The best way to keep yourself from experiencing another anxiety attack is to REALIZE you wont be hurt.
Most of the time the person suffering from the anxiety attack feels as though they are going to die, which a completely false assumption! Here are a few FACTS about panic attacks: Panic attacks CANNOT make you have a heart attack, suffocate, faint or go insane.
It may not feel like it, but its true! There is more than enough medical evidence to support this.
These symptoms may feel completely unnatural because its the panic response in the human body, it's supposed to feel that way because your only supposed to have this sensation if you are in danger.
Just keep in mind that you're not in danger, the panic attack is the result of the "panic alarm" being set off for the wrong reason.
Use this knowledge so that you may live a more comfortable life, safe in the knowledge that things are going to be OK.
The panic attack cannot hurt you, it just feels that way.
Don't waste your time fearing panic attacks, it will only bring you closer to the brink of having one.
