Important Note: Before you start..
..
If you are in an emergency state and you need expert advice all you should do is stop searching the net for solutions! Take the Yellow Pages and make a phone call to some expert! After turning off your emergency red light, you can go back and listen to more advices from me or from others.
Browsing the net for various treatments of anxiety such as the public speaking anxiety, panic attacks etc.
I noticed that within this explosion of information, while there are so many approaches, courses and programs offered to purchase, the problem is not anymore finding a a treatment but peak from within this confusing multiplicity, the one program, treatment, course, book and any possible media you can think about, the one that is most suitable for you.
In this article and next coming articles I will try to bring you with tips, tools and insights that will help you making your own choice.
I claim that there should not be, and there is no, one measure for all individuals, with all the concerning to psychological phenomenons.
And yes! Any upper-level behavior that can not be reduced theoretically, to pure biological, pure neurological, pure biochemical or pure physical terms, should be considered as psychological.
Anxiety is such kind of phenomenon.
I will touch this so important issue in one of my next articles in this series more broadly.
So...
in this series of articles I will refer to anxiety as psychological phenomenon and try to give you some tools to map different approaches, filter out the distracting information you are bombed with, reading program offers with more critical sight so you can finally make the best choice for you.
In the end of each article will refer you by link to a website, that collect various commercial programs you can find on the net, and I will highlight words that can help you in the mapping and filtering tasks.
For each approach I will give a short overview, and provide you with the link to go and check by yourself.
If you are looking for someone that will tell you do this or do that, I am not this person! I count on the fact that my readers are smart enough to make their own choice.
I count on the fact that if you read my articles, you are one of those that take the responsibility for their action on your own risk.
I will just show you with options, and give you better tools to understand those options.
Note that in this series I will not cover psychiatry treatments, niter alternative oriental treatment neither magical treatments.
To summarize this preview article here are some basic concepts I want you to remember, and I will extend the talk about those aspects in my next articles: First: You must assume the possibility that some program you purchase, will not work for you.
It doesn't mean that program is not good! Each approach requires a specific state of mind to work.
To get there you must pass some sort of resistance.
If you don't get into the braking point of your initial resistance to the therapeutic process, whatever it is, you will not solve your problem.
And, yes! Sometimes it requires to check more then one approach to get into this therapeutic journey..
..
Second: Solving anxiety is not the same as purchasing furniture at IKEA.
It is not something you just expect to function and continue with your life as nothing happen.
It is not ended by purchasing the right product for you, it is just starting there! As say, this is a journey.
Third: There must be some "payment" to some external "other" for the process of cure to begin.
Even the most rational approach, can not avoid the existence of some "other" in one person's psychological world.
Even if this something you practice on yourself, such as biofeedback technique, there will always be some "other" in this journey that reflect you form the outside and guide your search for your own unique paths.
It is never end between you and yourself, and it is never ended for free! Don't forget that.
Last for now: Do not quantify factors for getting into decision about the most suitable approach for you.
By quantifying you establish a pseudo objective measure, while actually what you try to solve is very subjective.
All you need to care about is this: "Can I dive into this program and make it into my journey for the next few hours, days, years...
?" If the answer for this last question is yes, then you are ready for stepping toward your cure...
Why would you listen to to my advice? I am not a doctor! nor psychiatrist! nor psychotherapist! I think that the answer for this question is that I am not bribed by any of theses! I am not "fan" of any of the programs I will present you with.
I can not say if they are suitable for you or not! I can present you with balanced and holistic jargon that will help you to make your own choice.
