Young vs. His Hometown

34
This Sunday's Houston Texans-Tennessee Titans matchup is being branded as a grudge match for Vince Young.
I'm sure the rookie quarterback isn't reading as much into it as the media is, but if he can lead the Titans past the Texans this Sunday, Houston fans won't be able to quit thinking about how they passed up their hometown kid.
Houston fans have been laboring on the "Vince Young thing" all season, but it was forgotten briefly last week when they rolled heavily favored Jacksonville.
How appropriate that they travel to Tennessee this week to either lay to rest their complaints or breathe more life into them.
The Titans are coming off a bye after Vince Young led them to victory against the Redskins.
The Texans are coming off their best effort of the season embarrassing the favored Jags.
If history is any indicator, the Titans will take home this one as they have won six of eight all-time meetings.
However, the Texans are the hotter team winning two or their last three games and I don't think I need to mention what they did to Jacksonville last week another time.
If Houston wants to make it two wins in a row and three wins in its last four games, it will have to do so on the road, a place that hasn't been too friendly to them this season.
Houston has played just two road games this year losing both.
The Texans were beaten by Peyton Manning and Indy 43-24 in week two and by Dallas 34-6 two weeks ago.
These teams are obviously of a higher caliber than Tennessee and the momentum coming off last week's big win could be the answer to Houston's road woes.
Tennessee Started the season 0-3 behind Kerry Collins and since Vince Young has taken over the reigns, the Titans have improved each week.
Young nearly defeated the Indianapolis Colts on October eighth before defeating the Redskins the following week.
Sunday's game comes down to quarterback play.
David Carr might not win many popularity votes in Houston but he is the league's fourth-highest rated quarterback completing a league-best 70.
3 percent of his passes with nine touchdowns against four interceptions.
He also has a nice target in Andre Johnson, who leads the league in receiving yards with 591, and makes Carr's job easier.
Vince Young brings the element of playmaking ability to the table.
Will he remain cool and collected against his hometown team or will he let his emotions get the best of him? I have the winning angle for Sunday's big game in the bag and I'm so confident in my winning side that I am making this play my 5* NFL BEST BET for week 8.
