How to Remove Bathroom Sinks
- 1). Use your home's main water supply valve to turn off the water. Check that you have done this correctly by turning on the faucet in your sink and making sure that no water comes out.
- 2). Disconnect the supply pipes or water lines that lead to the faucet. Use an adjustable wrench to loosen and remove these lines.
- 3). Place a bucket under the sink's trap. Use pliers to loosen the trap and allow any remaining water to drain out into the bucket.
- 4). Remove any perimeter seals or silicon that are helping to bond the sink to the wall by cutting them away with a utility knife.
- 5). Look under the sink to see if any bolts are use to hold it in place. If so, use your wrench to loosen these bolts. Be sure to have a partner or assistant ready to help keep the sink from falling on you.
- 6). Lift the sink straight up and out of its support bracket. If you will be installing a new sink that is similar in design, you will likely be able to keep the bracket in place and reuse it.
