Snowdonia is a wonderful area in North Wales, designated as a national park and stretching 893 across square miles.
The area is very popular with visitors all throughout the year.
Many people visit Snowdonia due to its wonderful scenery and mountain ranges.
The highest mountain in Wales, Mount Snowdon, is in the region and is where the area's name comes from.
Even if you are not interested in the regions natural wonders or wildlife then there are many wonderful places and attractions to visit during a Snowdonia holiday any time of the year.
One of the most popular and historically interesting attractions to visit whilst in North Wales is Penrhyn Castle.
This stunning castle is located between Snowdonia and the stretch of water known as the Menai Strait.
The castle not only hosts a huge collection of historical artefacts and décor but also features many unique exhibitions and has a wonderful 50 acres of gardens and landscaped grounds to explore.
Throughout Penrhyn Castle you can view and discover many marvels from the Victorian period such as the castles hand painted Chinese wallpaper and even its huge and valuable collection of art that contain many works by old masters.
Another great day out is the National Slate Museum in Llanberis.
Visitors can learn all about Wales' heritage of slate quarrying and production.
Featuring the world's largest water wheel and many restored and renovated buildings and original machinery the museum is an interesting and varied day out for visitors to North Wales.
If you are taking a holiday in Snowdonia then you will want to experience the marvel that is the Snowdon Mountain Railway, the railway travels to the summit of Mount Snowdon and has been in operation for almost 115 years.
With its stunning views and unique travel route over viaducts and through forests the journey ends up at the summit giving visitors an opportunity to check out the Snowdonia summit visitor centre.
Many visitors choose to take a one way trip up on the mountain railway and then trek down; the walk is extremely enjoyable and takes approximately one hour.
Walkers have the opportunity to visit the halfway house café on the way down.
If you have young children and you are holidaying in Snowdonia then no visit is complete without going to 'The Fun Centre'.
Encompassing as much as possible to keep your kids busy and entertained, the centre contains giant drop slides, ball pools and even a wonderful diner with plenty of treats.
