Creepy Spider Crafts for Kids
- Handprint spiders are a simple, fun and messy craft activity for very young children. Paint the child's hand and four fingers with black paint, but leave the thumb paint-free. Make a hand print on white craft paper. Rotate the paper 180 degrees and do the same again, so that the fingers become spider's legs and the palms the body. Allow to dry and paint a face on the spider's body in contrasting white paint.
- Foam ball spiders are another simple craft. Simply paint a foam ball black and push four evenly sized black pipe cleaners into either side to create legs. Bend the legs so that the spider stands and the foam ball is raised. Glue on googly eyes to give the spider a face.
- Elastic spiders offer a variation on foam ball spiders and make perfect decorations for Halloween parties. Make a foam ball spider and use a needle to carefully thread a thin piece of elastic through the foam ball. Remove the needle and tie a secure knot before hanging the spider from the ceiling.
- Spider web crafts complement other creepy spider craft activities perfectly. Glue three craft sticks together in a crisscross pattern. When the glue has dried paint them white. Securely tie some white wool around the center of the sticks and wrap around the sticks from the center outward, creating a spider's web pattern and tie securely. Use additional yarn to hand from the ceiling as a party decoration.
