Step-by-Step Instructions for Aboveground Oval Pool Assembly

    • 1). Select a level surface that is within reach of an outlet for the pump and your garden hose. If the surface you have chosen is not level, use a shovel to bring the high areas level with the lowest point.

    • 2). Walk the area to remove twigs, rocks and other debris that could possibly puncture the pool.

    • 3). Unpack the box and remove all of the pool parts. Divide the poles by the letter that is printed on them.

    • 4). Spread a ground cloth over the area the pool will cover. Center the cloth so there will be extra on all sides.

    • 5). Unroll the pool right-side up on the ground cloth. Look for the pre-cut holes for the filter and pump and turn the pool so the holes are facing the area where the pump will be located.

    • 6). Slide an "A" pole into the sleeve on the corner of the pool. Attach a "B" pole to the end of the "A" and keep sliding into the sleeve. Continue adding "B" poles the length of the side and end the poles with a "C" pole. Twist the poles so the holes in the poles match with the holes in the sleeves.

    • 7). Repeat on the other side of the pool.

    • 8). Place a restrainer strap on each of the U-shaped poles and slide the strap to the bottom.

    • 9). Insert the ends of the U-shaped poles into the holes in the poles along the side sleeves. Repeat along both sides of the pool.

    • 10

Insert the connecting rods through the loops on the ends of the restrainer straps and the short loop on the bottom edge of the liner.

    • 11

Inflate the top ring of the liner with an air pump and lift the side walls while pushing the bottom of the liner outwards with your feet.

    • 12

Fill the pool with about 1 inch of water and continue smoothing out the liner wrinkles along the bottom of the pool.

    • 13

Locate the hoses with the pump and attach one to the intake on the pump assembly and one to the outtake on the filter assembly.

    • 14

Remove the plunger valves from the strainer valves and the return jet. Unscrew the nut from the valves.

    • 15

Insert the strainer basket into the lower pre-cut hole in the pool liner from the inside out. Screw the nut back onto the valve.

    • 16

      Repeat with the return jet.

    • 17

Reattach the plunger valves to the threaded strainer valve and return jet.

    • 18

      Continue filling the pool.

    • 19

Connect the hose from the pump assembly to the lower plunger valve and tighten the hose nut.

    • 20

Connect the other hose to the filter assembly and the higher plunger valve.

    • 21

Open the valves to allow water into the filter.
