How to Make Extra Money - A Few Different Methods for Making a Bit of Extra Cash
The internet has changed the face of the world over the last couple of decades, one area that it's had a massive effect is that it's made making a bit of extra cash far more accessible to normal people.
I'll briefly run over some of the different methods of making a bit of cash online, so stick with me to learn how to make extra money.
The methods that I've used to date are: Poker: I played poker for about a year - initially I was encouraged by some friends from an MMORPG called Eve Online who used to make a bit of side cash playing poker online.
I basically read a bit before I even started playing, and when I started I hit the ground running, though only playing very small stakes tables $1/$0.

It's good fun, but it takes a hell of a lot of work to get good, and competition is huge.

I played for 1 year, and I made about $1500 in that time.

eBay: I didn't experiment much with eBay, but I did do one proof of concept (my situation changed a short while after, and this was no longer an option).
The idea is simple - to make any money with trading you have to buy low, and sell high.
With eBay, you buy low using auctions, and you sell high by selling on buy it now.
The trick is to research products that have fairly high volume, and a large disparity in the high and low price.
PPC: Pay Per Click marketing - basically affiliate marketing.
It's all about driving traffic to offers.
Affiliate offers are available all over the internet from places like Amazon, Commission Junction, ClickBank to CPA (Cost Per Action) companies, to smaller affiliate offers directly from the vendor.
PPC has the potential to make you a lot of money, and fast, but you have to get lucky or be very persistent.
Competition is high, and always growing, but there are still opportunities for new people.
SEO: Search Engine Optimisation - this is all about getting a website ranked well in the search engines (mainly Google, but also there's a lot of traffic potential from Bing), and getting the free traffic from organic searches.
When you have traffic, there are various ways to monetize it, from AdSense, Amazon or eBay listings or even CPA offers.
Forex: This is my current love.
Currency trading is huge these days - there's over $2 trillion transacted over the Interbank every day.
A few years ago, access to the currency markets was not available to people like us, but now there are many retail brokers and you can start with account sizes as small as a couple of hundred dollars.
While the potential rewards are large with forex, the risks are even bigger - only a small percentage of people ever make money (this is said to be around 5%).
It's hard, but it is doable if you take it seriously, and prove yourself on demo (brokers offer test accounts with play money called demo accounts) before even thinking about trading real money.
One word of advice though, stay away from anyone trying to sell you a system or a robot (in fact, on the internet, be very wary of anyone trying to sell you anything - advertising on the net is nowhere near as well regulated as it should be).
Do not buy anything apart from forex books, spend your time researching and learning for yourself.
As I say, it's doable, but it is not fast, it will probably take you years of persistence before you're making good money.
