How Do I Attach Underlayment to Quikrete?
- 1). Sweep the floor. Make sure to pick up as much dust and dirt as possible to ensure a level and clean surface for the flooring to rest on. A shop-vac might be useful.
- 2). Unroll the poly onto the floor. Use the utility knife and tape to cut and secure the poly to the floor. Subsequent rows should have an overlap of at least 8 inches. This poly serves as a vapor barrier to moisture and should be used over concrete floors.
- 3). Unroll the underlayment on top of the poly. Use the utility knife and tape to trim and secure the edges. Subsequent rows should have an overlap of at least 8 inches.
- 4). Work air bubbles and creases out of the underlayment. You want the underlayment and poly as flat as possible because any imperfections will be felt in the final flooring installation.
